About Us

The group was originally founded by two mothers with ASD children who realised there was little support within the rural setting of West Dorset for families with ASD and/or social anxiety.

From a small idea the group now has 75 members that have signed up.

What do we provide?

  • We provide a safe environment for young people aged 11-18 to meet up and socialise, explore their feelings and gain peer support
  • We facilitate parental and carer peer support for the families of all aged children effected by ASD and/or social anxiety.

We know there are more families in our community that could benefit from our support, so please make others aware.

Community awareness

We promote awareness in our local secondary schools and raise awareness among our community both with professionals working in this field and the general public.

Greater awareness hopefully will result in greater understanding of ASD and social anxiety disorders.

We meet every term-time Monday at Bridport Children’s Centre between 6.30pm-8.00pm.

Due to the Coronavirus Bridport Children’s Centre is no longer available, please contact us to find out how the group is meeting Covid-Secure
